I've bent a lot of hard lines in my day, usually with my thumbs and fingers. I finally went out and bought a tubing bender because I see a lot of brake line bending in my near future and I want to make sure I use it properly. What do all of the marks mean on it? I know what the degrees are obviously but on the other side there is O, R, L and another mark I think. So wondering what lining up my mark on tubing with each mark will result in.

i will have to dig one out an look at it but if i remember right one side has got a 0, that where you line up your mark, now on the part the actually movers their is a 0 and L and an R. if you line up the 0-0 then when your bend is compleate the mark should be at the center or your bend. now if you line up the 0-L the mark will be.... to the point where your final outside part of your radious will be at you mark. and finally the 0-R will be so that your make will be at you inside radious.

its hard to explain and i am not sure if i have got it backwards or not but the best way to find out is get yourself a scrap piece of pipe and play with it, you can use soft copper pipe (ice maker, refigeration, fuel oil,) to practice on also
