I'm just curious...Will 37" Good Year MT/R's fit a Dodge Ram with a 5" Skyjacker lift? My tires are still very new, but if I could fit 37's, I may sell my 35's! hahaha!

I would think that 37's would rub under full flex. But you never know till you try. I know that when I get my lift I am going to run a set of Swamper TSL 36's which are about 35.9 inch. They may end up taller since I will run them on an 8 inch rim instead of 10.

If they rub a little then they rub. I dont plan to hit full flex that often.

I am curious myself. After lifting my rig, I would like to see bigger rubber. Skyjacker claims 36" tire will fit with there 5" lift. Too bad there are not many choices in 36"s. If I can get 37"s on mine with minimal rubbing, I may consider it. Howver, there is always a PA body lift.

I installed 36x12.5x16 on my 5" lift 8" rim to keep tires inside fender. no rubbing what so ever.

I just checked out Good Year's website to see the specs on the 37" MT/R. The exact diameter of the 37/12.50/15 tire is 36.7. It would probably fit, but be pretty tight...

Tunis,

If I am going to get 37's I want some Baja Claws... 37X13.50-16 get some nice 16x10s to mount them on..
I dont think that they have released that size yet but do have it on their web site.

We should get together for lunch sometime next week so I can check out your lift kit.

there tunis, ya happy! i signed up!! i spend all my time over at http://www.dodgetrucks.org if ya wanna check it out, its very cool.
i have a 95 regular cab, shortbox. with a 360. 6" lift (3" susp., 3" body) and im from minnesota. the market for tires for a 16" wheel bigger than 35" sucks ass. im probably gonna end up with the 37/12.5/16 SSR's. i contacted goodyear and they said no plans to make the 37/12.5 for a 16" wheel.. whats up with that.. 15", 17" and no 16" arrg.. see ya

Bad95Ram,

Welcome to PavementSucks.com!!! Sorry if you had to go through too much trouble...it's just nice to know who you are talking to... Yah, that's the reason why I went with a 15" wheel! There are more sizes available with very reasonable prices...

my 36's (actually 35.6"s)rub at full turn backing out of my drive, and i have 8"s of lift. i dont see anyway not even with a skinny rim that a 37'ish tire would fit with just 5"s.

I am wondering about the 5 inch coils and then a set of Daystars on top of that.
Other than the tires I am thinking this may be required when adding a Road Armor bumper or something like that.

i am running a set of 15x10 black rockcrawlers from 4 wheel parts. backspacing is 3.5 or 3.75 inches, was told there is only one backspacing thats able to use on a ram w/15" rim. so those rims with the 36x14.50 swamper radials puts the tires about right at the edge of the egr fender flares. looks pretty sweet. it rubs on the drivers side lower half of the front bumper. i know of a couple of 2500s that run the 5" coil and a spacer to clear 38's, but then again 2500s are taller and have alot stronger axles. i think im pushing it now with 36's on 1/2 ton axles.

thats messed up.. Alot of guys that have 8" of lift run 38" tires on a 15x10 wheel with no problems. And some guys even run up to 39.5" TSL's under only 8" of lift.

Shawn,

There are a few wheel manufacturer's out there that give you a choice of backspacing. Actually, to run a big tire with a narrow wheel, you should have at least 4 - 4.50" of backspacing. The 16" wheels have more than 3.50" of b/s, that's why they are recommended. I run 15X8 Welds with 4.50" b/s and I don't get any kind of rubbing. The Skyjacker 5" lift accomodates up to a 36" tire. I was going to go with 36/12.50/15 Interco TSL Radials, but I went with the MT/R's instead. The TSL's measure over 36". The 37" MT/R is acutally 36.7, so it may fit, but be pretty tight...

National tire and wheel has some good prices too.

I have a 8"-ish lift with 35x12.5 SSRs on 16x10 wheels, and they hit the front fenders pretty bad. But that is on a 1975 Dodge so it really doesn't apply here. So never mind.

Wow! 8" of lift and you still rub! That's pretty surprising??? You must stuff those tires way up into your fenders???
