Mine is in my remote tranny filter. It has a port for it.

not to sound sarcastic, but does taking the reading fromt the remote filter give a true reading of the temp? i would think you would want to take the temp from the pan instead of in something that has 6' or so of metal tubing acting as a radiator cooling it off.

Well the fluid is flowing fairly fast so I doubt their is a lot of cooling going on. And the remote filter is before either the factory cooler or my aftermarket aux one.

If I ever replace the pan, i will get one with a sensor port or two so I can get the actual temp. I might even try to temporarily get a sensor in the pan to compare the numbers at the 2 locations.
