I was on my way home today and my "O/D off" light came on and I didn't touch the O/D off button, then the tranny temp light came on so i pulled over and let it sit then limped it home. I checked the tranny fluid, it was fine, normal color and everything. Its had no problems shifting at all in any gear. Could this be the tranny filter? or something else? PLEASE tell me i don't need a rebuild! thanks!

no i don't have OD and i could smell the tranny fluid when i got home. I wish i had the computer so i could see what codes its kicking. Its gonna cost me 35 bucks to do that and if its a filter shoot i'd rather spend the 35 bucks on that then diagnostic. I had this problem with my 96 and it was some kind of ball bearing thing in the cooling lines for it, like the ball bearing was stuck or something? I'm at a loss right now though..
