Do you still have OD??? Is it shifting fine??? If everything seems fine, it might be an electronic glitch.

What year truck is it. If it has the 46RE instead of the 46RH (switched in '96 I think), then the OD is electronically controlled. You might be able to turn the key to get the codes (some years can do this, my '98 can't though), or just go to AutoZone and they will scan it for free.
