i noticed some surface rust on my bumper yesterday, its the chrome bumper, the truck only has 15k on it. it came off easily but every other day due to snow and rain its back right below my license plate. if i take it to a dealer is there anything they could do for it while under warranty or is there a clear coat or something i could put on it to protect it so i dont have to deal with the clowns at my dealer?

I found a new trick to take that rust off your aluminum and chrome bumpers, wheels, or tailpipes. Coca-Cola. This product takes care of your aluminum wheels that are pitting out because of "Mag-Cloride".

As a kid did you ever do the experiment when you pour Coca-Cola in a jar and put a wood nail or tooth in there too, leaving it for 1- 2 weeks and then finding that the Coca-Cola ate the wood nail or tooth away, dissolving it into nothing?

Well, Coca-Cola works very well for cleaning your aluminum or chrome. What you do is get 12" of aluminum foil, one (depending) 12oz. can of Coca-Cola, and a stiff bristle brush (Oh, you may need a hose too).

Chrome- Apply Coca-Cola to the Chrome surface and scrub with sheet of aluminum foil. Then rinse with hose.

Aluminum- Apply Coca-Cola to the Aluminum surface and scrub with stiff bristle brush. (Caution-Don't use foil on Aluminum surface, results in scratches) Then rinse with hose.

The dealers have a 100k mile warranty on rust i thought, dont they?

yes but the rust has to come from the inside out. mines a 99, on the bottom of the doors near the weep holes the seem is rusting. i wash the truck after each snow too, i put the pressure nozzle in the weep hole to blast it out. its cause by the edge of the inside part of the door not being galvanized near that edge because it was sheared off after it was pressed. dodge wont honor this on their corrsion warranty. even though my dad and my uncle(both have been doing body work for a living for 30 yrs), and 2 shops said it is rusting from the inside.

Paint it! :bigthumb: :bigthumb: Ever notice when you don't want paint to stick to chrome,....You can't get it to come off!! :cuss: But if you put it there on purpose, it would come right off!!!! :argue: :cuss:
