First off I am replacing the hub a$$embly on the drivers side. When I got the hub nut off, metal shavings came out of the nut and off of the stub shaft threads. On one part of the threads it looks like the threads broke clean off.

Does anybody have any advice on what to do? Do I get a whole new stub shaft?

Reply back quickly if you can.

I would try to clean up the treads first and make sure the nut screws back on. If it's to bad to use a new stub shaft and nut would be needed.

That happened to me during a u-joint replacement. I took a small hand file and was able to clean up the threads enough to get the nut back on.

How bad were your threads? It looks like on mine that some of them are completely flattened or gone. I think it's f**ked.
