My steering in my 98 Dodge Ram 4x4 is pulling to right pretty hard when I have 4x4 on. I can notice it a little bit when 4x4 is off but not much. Any ideas what the problem could be?
Also in the manual it says that your able to switch to 4x4 up to 50mph....Mine won't....I have to stop and switch it otherwise it won't engage....Any ideas on this too?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I can't help you on the pulling to the right problem, it sounds like your front end is out of line, but you said you didn't notice it much in 2WD. My '99 won't shift on the fly either, but the manual says it will. I haven't questioned at the dealership though. I just keep stopping to engage and disengage 4WD.

Mine will engage up to about 40, but it always grunts a little. Doesn't sound very happy. I try not to engage at over 10 or so.

Pulling to the right in 4wd... Hmm. That's an odd one. Might be brake-drag, but that should show up in 2wd as well.

Alright then I'm not the only one with the 4x4 on the fly. That's good.

I do notice the pull in 2wd but it's gets noticably worse in 4x4.

Thanks for the replys
