Ebay, truck shops. I Dunno if the PSD has a fuel plate like the CTD but if it does then you gota fiddel with the fuel plate to get it to dump smoke :naughty:
I have a 7.3 IDI non turbo but I want one. Do you think that I can get good smoke with out a turbo? if so how?
Thanks
hmmm i dont know a whole lot about the mechanically injected motors, but smoke is essentially just unburnt fuel, waste fuel basically, all you need to do to generate more smoke would be increase fuel going into your motor while leaving your air as it is, a lot of people use things like modifications to the fuel plate, larger injectors, a chip (where applicable) etc, stacks on the other hand are easy to come by, there a full kits which you can purchase from dealers such as http://www.blackclouddiesel.com or you can piece together your own setup using the endless ideas and instructions here in our forums and wonderful wonderful ebay for parts. good luck! we love stacks here! :bigthumb:
try http://www.blackclouddiesel.com they have stacks from 5" to 7" .we just put a set on my brothers truck.
Does anyone know where I can get injectors for this? I'm new to the diesel side of things. Thank you for the help!!!

Go to thedieselstop.com and check into the injectors made by the user SwampDonkey. When I frequented that site about a year ago, people were wild about his injectors.
There's a boy that runs around my area with the old 7.3 ford, Got it lifted with 39's. He put a turbo kit on it, then added some fuel. doesn't run to bad for an old 7.3
Your truck is going to be incredible loud and sound like a gasser with out the turbo...

I had a 1990 F-350 with the 7.3L IDI.

Like said above, the non turbo v-8 will sound like a bigblock through straight pipes. It might be VERY loud and get you into mucho trouble. The pump will need some adjustments to get smoke. Don't think you will even need to worry about injectors as your motor is really lacking in the air department anyway. Add much more fuel and you will have troubles keeping it cool as far as EGT's go. My neighbor has an old 7.3 IDI with dual exhaust and it can really crackle. He just had the pump rebuilt and it runs good for a non turbo diesel. We cut all the guts out of the air filter housing and he said it help power wise. There is a bunch of tin inside the lid of the air cleaner that does not need to be there.

Thanks Kevino. What part of STL are you located?
My stacks are custom, no kit involved, got everything from local truck shop for about $400 total. Stacks are 6" mitre cut.
