I'm going to be in your area March 16th-March 20th for some meetings. I don't know much about the area out there, but I'm considering the San Francisco Hilton. Is that fairly close to the Moscone West Convention Center? Anything I should go see or do?

I'm not from there but isn't there a big bridge to go see hehehe :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
watch a couple movies: "the rock" and "escape from alcatraz" then go see the island. its a really fun tour to see how they had things back then. its also fun to see the movies and say "i was there".

the cable cars are really cool to check out also. they have the cable car station that you can go check out the machine shop, and the routing of the cables and everything.

at night, you gotta walk around the sidewalks at the end piers. there are a bunch of resturaunts to eat at. the most amazing thing though is all the street performers. there are guys that whip out a really nice framable painting of things from sunsets to robots. they do everything with spray paints and papers.

make sure to get some of clam chowder from this place called bourdini's or something like that.
Thanks yall...I'm not much into the big cities so I'm probably going to stand out like a sore thumb...especially in San Fran. I want to atleast ride the cable cars and it'd be interesting to go underground to see the cables, so I'll check into that. Any excellent eating spots around that area that yall would recommend?

aw don't worry about sticking out or not. They might think you are a tourist but so what? Sometimes it's more fun to do all the tourist stuff instead of looking like a local. Just enjoy yourself and when you come back tell us what a great time you had :bigthumb:
go to peir 39 is a cool place to see.... san jose is an hour away
yea, alkatraz is pretty sick, and so is pier39, you can walk across the golden gate bridge but its better to just look at it.... you should really go like 2 hours south of the city to hollister hills where they have top truck challenge. good times there, good times... oh and dont try to get hook up with any hookers cause there propbably guys...
I live about 30 min from SF...Yes Go to alcatraz, Great tour. You should also go to Peir 39 like everyone has suggested. There are many many places you should go. I dont know how much time you will have off work, but go to China Town, Go to Coit Tower, you should even go to Golden Gate Park (the good part, dont wander off, LOL) Shoot, Even the Financial district is cool to look at. Night life is awesome. I would recomend going to the many Visitor center stands and getting one of those tour guides. Ive lived here for 26 years, Have family and friends that live In the City, and have yet to see everything. There is just so much to do.

I know you have a limited time there so so the major tourist stuff like everyone has suggested you will have a great time.
