I don't have one on, but have heard that it dampens vibration. It also reduces outside road noise in the cab...kinda like that sound deadening material used in high-end car audio systems! As far as use-wise, it's pretty heavy duty!!! even if you do scratch it, all you do is touch it up because it adheres to itself. Im looking at getting it done, but I may do it myself and save some money...
