Replaced heater core now have a ?

I just replaced that pain in the arse heater core and put new coolant in and ran it for about 10 min then drove it around and it was acting like it wanted to overheat, then while driving if I was moving the temp would drop to about 210 and when I stopped it would go up to around 240! It blows hot air finally but why is the temp staying around 210 I have a 195 t-stat that is about 4 months old any suggestions?

let it cool down and then recheck it.sounds like its low on coolant.
I'd guess it needs the air bled from the system and more coolant added.
yup, either air in needs to be bled from the system or just low on coolant.
like stated above, let it cool off and then add some coolant and start the truck. see if the coolant gets sucked down. once it starts to creep its way out of the radiator, put the cap back on and see if it overheats
continue until it returns back to normal
you might also have to take a heater line off and let it bleed some air out that way if running it and then letting it cool down doesnt help you

:withstupid: just sounds like a big air bubble. Did you check your blinker fluid when you were done the change
:silly:
My 195 thermostat runs about 205-210 according to the dash gauge. Dont trust the factory gauge on exact temps. :bigthumb:

Yup the blinker fluid was topped off, but the right blinker was a little low! :rotfl: :rotfl:
