has anyone other than me noticed that the prices on their web site are cheaper than what the instore price is?
If you say something about it they will price match against thier own web site but if you dont know you pay extra.

I am currently waiting for a revised quote from them but I did get a quote today in the store on the following...

Skyjacker 5" class II lift
Goodyear MT/R 35-12.5/16's
Centerline HellCat 34's 16x8
with parts, labor, alignment, tax and road hazard on the tires it was almost $4500.

I have someone working on it for me so I am waiting to see the next quote before I hit them up about price matching other vendors on all the parts. In 15 minutes of web shopping I was able to shave about $400 of in just parts.

that sunds really expensive. I bought their 5" skyjacker "package" a few months back and love the lift....just HATE 4WP. I have the 5", 35" 12.5x15 on American Eagle 589's (mounted and balanced). The whole package was $2038. Then another almost 900 for the install, but thats another nightmare.
I see that the price of that same package has gone up a few hundred since I had it done. Must be a popular package. Take a look at it. It had been great for me ant it would save you almost $1500 (that just happens to be the price of a new set of 4:56's installed with a locker....)
Also, I was told BY THEIR MECHANIC that the stage 2 lift has a defect that for some reason when the tire hits a good bump at freeway speeds it goes into a wobble. They have not corrected the problem but contimued to sell the kit in true 4WP fashion. You should ask about that first before you find out at 75mph on the 101.

Okay guys, here's the tip! If you plan on buying from 4WheelParts, the best way to get a deal is if you do research online or in magazines and have them price-match what you are looking for...Here's some links with the lowest prices I've found:

Suspension:
http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/
Tires:
http://www.tirerack.com/

I actually found my Welds on eBay for an awesome price! They were brand new from the factory too! They were just a discontinued size...

Good Luck Bill! <IMG SRC="/board/images/smilies/bigthumbup.gif">

I have also found another method...
"oh well, mr x said told me $x for that"
they will pretty easily adjust it for you. try that next time. the prices arent very stable, i think it varies from person to person.

Thanks for the info. I am waiting to see what kind of quote adjustment I get for it being a club thing I will then hit them about the price matting if they are still higher.

I was planning to use pricing from RockyMountain and Tirerack unless I find something better. I am still searching for a price on the Centerlines.

Rampage,
I am interested to see how that would work. The only real difference between the class I and II is the dual shocks in the front and the lower link skid plate

I forgot to ask. Is there any place around here that will install lifts other than 4 Wheel Parts?

I may buy everthing elsewhere then take it to get it installed.

i had bought my lift from them. i had gotten the skyjacker 5" stage 2 kit, dual stabilzers, gibson headers, body lift for the sport model, 4 36x14.5r15 super swamper radial tsls mounted and balanced on black rockcrawler rims with the road hazard and stainless hub caps and nuts for $2800 delivered. in turn they screw up my order and sent me the double flex kit instead of the standard kit. i would check summit racing like someone else said. i know alot of times they ship it free, but im not sure on the lifts.

Shawn,

Why complain if they sent you a double-flex instead of the standard kit??? That kit is way more expensive! Did you exchange it? $2800.00 for all that??? That's one hell of a deal!!! and that's through 4WheelParts???

Snowman,

That's the problem I always hear! The parts aren't always complete!!! They had to take other Skyjacker parts out of another kit to complete my kit...but all work out well! I love my lift!!! :bigthumb:

thats been my expierances with them i try to avoid em.

4WP qoutes and charges book rate for labor, regardless of how long it actaully takes. My buddy Allen (rampage) paid $575 or so labor for an estimated 8 hours just for his basic 5" Skyjacker kit and it only took the tech 4 hours becasue we had the entire front end apart 2 days earlier before we noticed that the parts were wrong.

they got my front gear set and locker order due to being the cheapest around... then i got their tire department and they were $500 more for 4 tires, rims package.. so I told them Tyres International had my order since they were cheaper thus I just had to wait weeks for the tires to come in.... dude said... Hold on.. got back on and said "I just checked with my manager and I can match that price...."

very cool...

OUCH. it would suck to pay half again what the kit cost to have it installed. its really not that difficult of an install
