Well I have a 98 1500 I am thinkin about the 3 in rancho kit and then mounting some P31575R16's on the stock wheels. I might have a little rubbing but a sawzall is on the way and maybe some bushwacker fender flares.....I mean it is X mas and everything...what do you guys think....how hard was it for you who did do your own suspension kits....will I need a coil spring compressor...I read the write up on the procomp kit......its just that I need to be able to do this in a parkin lot with basic handtools...what do you guys think better to pay $250 to get it installed??????

BKAST,

If I were you, I'd go with a 5" lift! You'll want to go bigger later anyways, so why not do it right the first time? Especially if you plan on running 35" tires! I'm very happy with my 5" Skyjacker lift!

Yup! If any of you are like me...I'm never satisfied! I thought I was happy with my 5" lift(I mean I really still am), but I want to go bigger!!! My rule of thumb, don't settle for less, don't do something you know you will regret later! I was looking into the same set-up, but with 33's...I'm so glad I didn't!!! Good Luck!

Awesome tires!!! I'd buy these tires again in a heartbeat! This tire and the Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip were rated best out of: Pro Comp XTerrains, Mickey Thompson Radial Baja Claw, BFGoodrich M/T T/A KM, and Interco's 37" Boggers. Here are the ratings for the GoodYear MT/R:

5=best, 1=worst
MUD - ****
ROCKS - *****
SAND - ****
STREET - ****

*see the Jan '02 issue of FOUR WHEELER for the article!

Thanks for the KUDOS!!!
