Alrighty i know the dirt on the Thronbird which is why im asking opinions on whether or not they would be a cool show truck tire. Im working on a 1964 F-250. Its going to have a flat bed and be painted CAT yellow. I like the way the tires look but whant opinions on if they would be cool for that truck. But i might just end up going whith some A/Ts from Les Scwab. Thanks for the help guys.

I think they look like crap, but YOU like them so you should put them on YOUR truck.
well if its just show truck sure go for it,,as long as you dont expect it to be any kickass trail tire ,,theyll work fine for being on a show piece,,but id rather have something like boggers or grapplers on one myself, but the prices are kinda a lil steeper :cuss:
Just remember my quote, "If you don't want kids laughing at your tires, don't buy Thornbirds." I made that quote in response to another T-brid tire thread because I was at a show one time and a show truck had those tires on and I saw some kids snickering about those being sucky tires....the kids knew more than the moron with the truck. So unless you want kids laughing at your tires, buy something else.
I don't even think they look good. Imo boggers are the best looking tire out there.

I agree. Even for a show truck, Boggers are still the tires i'd choose.

But like Deuce said, it's your truck. If you like the way they look, go for it.
there's a ranger on thornbirds thats been to a few of the shows i've been to and they look pretty good on it.
yeah well im on the line of going either way, I think they look neat but i have never seen em in person.
Thornbirds do look good. I've got them on my YJ in 35x1450's on 15x12 589's. They are pretty decent offroad and kick a$$ compared to a regular (BFG MT) tire.

I'm with you there, my buddies got 38's on a stroker. the side lugs on it make the truck look pretty bad a$$!! AS an off road tire, oh no, not very good :nono:
Boggers rule all.
i think the bias ply baja claws are the best looking.
and perfomance too, all offroad, not on-road.
*pokes nose in*

As far as looks go, I do in fact like the look of a T-bird when driving.... that outside lug is kinda cool. When sitting, not so much. On the flip side, everyone and their cousin and their cousins brother's sister has boggers. I would either run the T-birds just for show, or grab one of the newer styles that are coming out... try set it apart from the rest of the crowd, that's how people remember you. Go to a show, and figure out which tire you don't see a lot of. A nice set of ag tires always stands out in a crowd.....
I think they look kinda funny. If you're just going for show I'd saw Boggers, or those Nitto Mud Grapplers look real cool.
i like the way the tbirds look as well...theres a guy round here with some 38 tbirds on his chevy and hes bought several sets...looks pretty mean even if they dont perform that well
throw some ground hawgs on there.......a tire that not many people run..and its show and go
use something no one uses very much, baja claw, or something like that
I was looking at the 33x11 16s. I may also end up going whith some old school bias traction tires. I just what a tire whith huge side lugs so it looks mean but since this guy is a vintage 2wd i doubt it will see much more than a dirt road.
And i have been to multipul tractor pulls and it seams guys running T-birds do REALY well. I guess the combination of edges but surface area of the tire helps build frition better which is what you need for pulling. There were alot of Chevs running 35s at the last one i whent to. The guy running the T-birds did better than the guys running boggers and TSLs. It suprised me, maybe thats why Interco still mkaes the T-bird...
Everyone trashes T-birds without really ever owning them... :rotfl: Just like my IFS haha.

Seriously though even though they ARE NOT the best tires for offroad...they do better then these guys make the sound.

You trucks is a show truck....I'm with these guys though get a Bogger or TSL SX.
I've had two sets of thornbirds on my Jimmy and I absolutely love everything about them especially the looks. and I wouldn't say they suck in the mud either. Just my .02
