Hey Guys,
I'm in the process of bolting on a new water pump and we can't figure out how to take the fan off of the pump. There are four bolts that we took off of the pump and the pulley came loose, so we figured the fan would slide out of the pump then. Well, it didn't. Does anyone know how to take it loose from the water pump? Thanks.

I found the tech report on installing a new fan clutch. That helped a LOT! Just get the new pump installed after about 2 1/2 hours. It wasn't too hard to take it off, just a pain in the butt. Thanks for the help.

if you get the whole assembly off and on the driveway, since you are replacing the water pump just jam a screwdriver in the impeller and you can loosen the clutch. if you intend on reusing the pump it is best to take the clutch off while the pump is on the motor. you can carefully wedge a pry bar between the pully and the pump and with a few attempts you can free the clutch. the threding is "the right way", as opposed to oppisit threds.
