Need Advice , Bad Bad Accident

Ok, late last night, my brother was driving down a tight road, speeding alittle as far as I can see. Ended up sliding the car, hitting a ditch and concrete barrier, flipping the car and totally demolishing it.
He walked out of it unscratched pratically.
Now, my brother is 18, he had a 14 y/o girl with him for whatever reason (taking her to her house after a party)
I'm supposed to take him to the station today because the officers want to give him tickets and i got wind they wanna try him with endangering the life of a minor. I know he'll get speeding, failure to reduce speed and whatever others they come up with but does anyone have any suggestions about the endangering the life of a minor one.
What tops it all off is it was my moms car, which isn't paid off, and he isnt on the insurance for it. She refuses to help him much right now and I'm trying to do what I can but no sure what root to go. I figured I come and ask you guys if you had any ideas or experiences I could use to get me going..

thanks for you help.

i have no clue other than maybe start hoping that her parents arent really mean about it and press charges,,Specially if they dont know him or didnt know what their daughter was doing,,good luck with it all,, :sorry:
The girl parents wont. Her father doesnt even care about it and I know her mother really well. Her son is a good firend of mine and thats how we all know each other. They wont press charges but its the police themselves that are going after that charge. I dont even knwo if they are allowed to do that or anything. thats what im trying to figure out. Probably call my lawyer real soon.
i always a$$umed those charges couldnt be brought up unless the parents pressed charges. but im not a lawyer so who knows...
:withstupid: thats the way it is here anyway,,since regardless it was her choice to be in the vehicle,,now if he was all kinds of drunk and all that i can see the cops going after charges but ,like said above im not sure in your area,,
Hey, I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. They said the same things, but it was just to pump some fear into me, I got to fast for conditions and no seat belt 130 bucks total, dont sweat it.
Well, we went to the station wedsnday. they gave him speeding 60 in a 35. Failure to stay to right side and arrested him with a misdemeanor of reckless driving.

The speeding and failure to stay right can be taken care of. the reckless driving i have no clue about. he was ticketed about 6 months ago for speeding too. (70 in a 55)and if he gets convicted of any of those tickets, he supposely loses his license.

I only know so many people and can only ask for so many favors.
Anyone ever have a reckless driving against them?? What came of it?
Your brother should have never put himself in that situation... IMO, laws were made for this type of situation... he just got a ticket for going 15 over the speed limit so, what's he trying to do? Break his record? And then he's driving a car for which his not insured and he's totin' around a 14 year old girl which, COULD (very easily) be seen as a ten year felony... your brother is very lucky.
i would say he balls up and accepts his mistake. He screwed up, he loses his lic. He will just have to learn from this... hopefully he doesnt find a way out of it... cuz if he does, he will just do it again. If he doesnt pay for his mistake, he most likely wont learn anything from this.

Harsh, yes, but sometimes, life sucks. Also, if he is 18, I hope your mom makes him pay for the damn car. He was dumb enough to be RECKLESSLY DRIVING it, and wrecked it, he should pay for it.

A reckless driving in Wisconsin wont even get your licence pulled. Its a 6 point violation here.

IM sure a deal couild be struck with the DA to drop the reckless driving down to some sort of other moving violation with a fine.
Sounds like he is going to lose his driving privilages for a while. Id be more worried about the girls paresnts filing a lawsuit. Will be bad news if your he isnt insured
:withstupid: first real offense the d/a will strike it,,the reckless will disappear after 6 months without any other major rolling violations,,,it prob wont even affect his or your parents insurance
i had gotten 6 tickets and a reckless driving charge when i was 16.
i had gotten a lawyer, made myself presentable for court, and got everything dropped except for 2 tickets for going thru stop signs.

so basicly, you broke 6 laws, and instead of owning up to them, you whined and cried to the Judge/DA to drop the charges because you out of character dressed up all nice and presentable? Seriously, I do NOT understand people... if you do somthing wrong and KNOW IT, how can you with a clear concious just up and say you didnt do it or what ever? Hopefully I am wrong in my a$$umption, that you actually told the DA/Judge. that you did the crap, am sorry, and that you had learned your lesson, and just because of your honesty, they lowered it.
Im lucky one parking ticket and a speeding ticket. Parking I paid it, for the speeding ticket I didnt ask for it the judge gave me 3 monthes probation and paid it.

If I did something really dumb and knew it I would own up.
Well did he just take the car or did your mom let him take it ? Also alot of insurance companys just tell you so and so cant drive the car till their 21. That way less chance of something like this to happen
from what i understand if he had premission to drive the car he is covered for insurents as for the tickets just have him go to the judge and ask for traffic school or probation and most time they will bite on that

i have had a few tickets and never lost my driving rights

okay jackass i didnt whine and cry to the Judge.

i just didnt show up to court in a T-shirt and jeans, but a shirt and tie and some Khakis.

and yes i had gotten the Lawyer to help out and and lower the fines/sentence/whatever. i was arrested, i knew i did something wrong, i had learned my lesson and was sorry.
never did i say i didnt do anything wrong did i?

so next time before you make yourself look like an a$$wipe, get the whole story before you jump on someones {expletive}.
Well I agree with the fact that if you screw up you gotta take your punishment. But I don't know why you would go down to the station to get ticketed. Did they have an arrest warrant? Did they file a complaint with the local district attorney? Did a Judge order you to appear before the court? Was there a witness? Seems like you could win in court by coming up with some lame excuse like a deer ran out if nobody else was there to see it. You don't have to testify against yourself and any questions they asked you without miranda could be thrown out. Not that I don't think the driver has something coming, but the cops better have their ducks in a row before they go "ordering you to the station." Maybe that's just the way they do things East Coast. Out here, as long as there was no DUI or Hit and Run it would be an accident on your record, a totalled car, and a very, very high insurance premium to pay for a few years. Lesson learned.
I'm curently serve 14 hours of community for my two latest tickets. It cost 75 bucks for the diversion, and 60 for court costs and comes out to be 5 bucks more than the two tickets combined, but it pulls it off my record, so see if you can get a diversion
i got my mine suspended 6 months, after some craptastic charges, i did the crime but the case was handled poorly and the cop lied in court and to me and several other people, i coulda got it threw out but didnt have the money for the lawyer, and i knew the cop would harass me if i got off on them. same cop that "heard" me speeding
