Out in the boat a few days ago and took a cruise into Admiralty Island's Barlow Cove. This is a huge long, open cove that is very sheltered, so we could cut the engine and drift. Why? To listen to the whales passing near our boat, back and forth, breathing (see the mist above the whale?) and cruising along. We just drifted and enjoyed the sounds....
As we headed back to Auke Bay, we also passed these guys in Stephen's Passage.... a pod of 5 ~ 7 Humpbacks.
