I just orderer 2 magnaflow high flow cats and mufflers. Hopefully they will be here this week. I also ordered some headers. Anyways I was wandering why did you order a new y-pipe too? You cant just use the stock one?
i a$$ume that he got the direct fit that will bolt right up the the manifolds or shorty headers like i did the direct fit saves you from any cutting or welding and is mandrel bent instead of that factory garbage, i checked mine and the weld doesn't touch but the gap is only 1/8 or 1/16 of an inch
yea i got the direct fit. and my gap was 1/4 of the way around the 02 hole. i just took a mig and sealed it up. i was just wondering if any one else had the same problem.
i didnt have a problem with mine, an off road y-pipe will make your truck run {expletive}ty. its built to have a cat and o2 sensors so i would keep the maganflow, if anything, just call them up and tell them about it!
I've been away for quite a while, but popped in to say I just ordered the same from Summit.

I'm hoping to retrieve lost power from my rattling and clogged stock converter.
I didn't have any problems with the welds around the O2 bungs, but I did have to shorten the distance between the drivers side pipe and pass side pipe about 1" to make it bolt up correctly to the headers.
Other than that no problems except for the purple color.
I didnt have any problems with the O2 sensor bung but the hanger rusted off after 4 months of summer weather.
i will keep an eye on it once i get it on.
I can only say I am disappointed that I did not replace my converter sooner.

The magnaflow arrived, installed easily and my truck is running like it is supposed to.

I cut open the converter only to find the ceramic-type emissions block broken into three pieces. That would explain the severe blockage and loss of power.

The only difficult part was lying underneath the truck with the torch cutting the old one out.

EDIT: The bungs were welded in completely.
glad to hear it worked out for you.

I am pleased with my magnaflow system as well.

Did you get the y pipe & cat or just the cat?
It was the MPE-23285 y-pipe/converter replacement.
