I know that there are already two articals on here about ignitions systems but I am looking at something a little different.

I am thinking of getting an Accel coil with wire adapter.. This should be a direct replacement. I was thinking of taking the wiring adapter and splicing a Crane HI-6 into it. I like the HI-6. I have one on my Mustang and it works well. It also cost alot less than an MSD 6AL for the same features.

Has anyone installed either the Accel coil or Crane HI-6 on their truck?

Bill,
I am interested in your responses - very "intellectual." Once you choose your ignition upgrade, will it replace the stock coil that sits on the left front of the engine (looking under the hood?) If not, are you thinking of keeping the stock location? I notice that in "stock height" trucks the ignition coil get's wet and has difficulties. I upgraded the plug wires and it did improve it some!

Thanks for the responce. I am debating on if I want to get a coil that goes in the stock location or somethng that will be moved to another spot. If I get the accel coil it will mount in the stock location. If I get soemthing else it will mount on the fenderwell instead of the block like the stock one does now.

I should be getting something in about two weeks so I will post an update and maybe some pictures.

Recently found a website, don't know if you have been there - thought if not you could check it out! I actually liked the ability to enter in my vehicle infor on the left and it then gave me ONLY the products which were available for my Dodge.....Check it out!
