Binderbulletin is still around, but its nearly dead. The best Binder forum on the web is currently Binder Planet.

You most likely have a 152 I4, which is basically half a 304, but there is a remote possibility is a 196. They are good motors, very torquey. They came with a 1bbl Holley or Carter, and either are good carbs, dirt simple.

The 4BT swap would be cool, but would require a completely new drivetrain. The T89/T90 transmission would die in short order, but probably outlast the Dana 27 axles, or even the upgraded taper shaft Dana 44 rear.

They are very cool rigs, but to build one takes a lot of swapping. With small tires and factory engine, they will last forever. Think of them like a flatfender Jeep, very cool, but if you decide to build one, all you are gonna use is the body.
