Hydro a$$ist on! now with PICS

got it all on. i am loving the positioning - the cylinder clears the control arm bracket by around 1/16th!

one bummer so far: i still get tie rod rotation, which i'm not liking too much. i think what will keep happening is i'll just have to go through safety washers a lot, as that's what i'm using to give it some more misalignment (however the ball hits the washer and i think will slowly eat it away).

not a problem for me though, i see it just like changing spark plugs or something.

it feels better - i could really tell that the stock pump is really not enough though. not a problem - have a new psc one sitting here. i'll swap it out after i relocate the battery.

i got it redone with elbows on one end and need to get adapters on the others (too lazy to take them out completely :flipoff:

pics tomorrow!

Cool deal Spawn. Who's system did you go with? Or did you piece together your own? One of my long laundry list of things to do.
i went with psc for everything. everyone on here had great experiences with them, and they work together with van from vanco hydroboost systems (he's local to me), so that way i eliminated a lot of the compatibility issues i may have encountered.

can't wait to try it on with the new pump though

edit: although i have to say, if i was to redo this, i would go full hydro with absolutely no questions asked... however this will be just fine for me
no pics, i clicked here to see pics :flipoff:

you may be thinkging full hydro. hydro a$$ist is a very good setup for running large tires

and i must say that if that actually clears perfectly in that tight spot... DAMN thats a fine job man.. nice clean snug fit
:bigthumb: good job bud, makes me want to drop everything else and get to work on the axle swap...
it clears literally by 1/16", and yes, actually clears lock to lock. i test fitted it, tested it out, then fgured oh well 1/16th but seems to work, might as well go for it.

the feel is GREAT. truck is a lot more stable on the freeway now and little bumps don't go steering/shaking me. i still feel some input from the road, just much much much less now.

hydro a$$ist was definitely needed though
should be perfect for getting over those parking blocks and speed bumps in the mall lot, looks good, im gonna say you will probably never hurt that thing on the rocks as tight as you got it in there, how well do those hydro cylinders work in the mud, will it hurt the shafts??
honestly no idea. however i *H A T E* mud and stay away from it. i don't even have mud shields on the axle shafts.. :D:

interesting avatar to have next to a comment like that. :flipoff:
gawd damn it. :wall: its one of the few neutral shots i have where it looks proportional.. :D:
spawn, what size tires are those? also what diff cover is that? the guards that i've seen lately are to big and won't clear my drag link. (sorry, i'm not trying to hijack the post)
this is from greatlakesoffroad on pirate but he also sells on ebay :D: those are 38x12.5x15" SXs.. the tire i'm going to stay with most likely.

i have a damn good turning radius IMO
looks like a tight fit. :bigthumb:
