I dont think its done it anywhere else besides school though. could it be someone elses car is on the same channel for keyless entry. even though im almost sure mine doesnt have it. did all 97 rams have one. i need some help with this before everything in my truck gets stolen. :wall:

the same thing used to happen at my old apartment complex. i would come out in the morning, after knowing i locked the truck and it would be unlocked. i am guessing it must be something like you mentioned. someone else having the same code programed into thier key fob.
Ha, I disabled my alarm system. That thing gives me so much greif.

I still haven't removed it from the truck yet because there's a rediculous amount of wires to take care of. Whenever I start it the thing throws a code and locks/unlocks the doors 3 times. It freaks people out. :silly:

Try parking somewhere else.
does my year of truck come with a keyless entry or was it an option. it didnt say keyless entry on the spec sheet i got from the dealer. it only said something like SLT power convinence package. would that mean it has it? i could have swarn ive seen my lights flash once when the doors locked. Im not sure if there is an alarm though. anyone have any way to check. i would like to have it. sticking the key in the door to get in is getting old.
thats crazy! i've never heard of such a thing. i'll be keeping tabs on this post just because i'm curious.
well that really didnt answer my question but ok :flipoff: anyone know???
i think any truck with power locks can have it added, its built in the computer i THINK
i have a 1997 Dodge Dakota SLT and i have keyless entry

You can have power locks and windows without keyless entry. Given the VIN a dealer service guy can print you the build list -- the exact list of stuff in your truck (or you can e-mail Chrysler via their web site www.daimlerchrysler.com).

There is no factory alarm but there is an immobilizer in newer trucks.
You could have the factory keyless entry and the remote just got lost......so you wouldnt know you have it. The dealer can get the code and get you a new one programmed, or you can disable it.

Also....there could have been an aftermarket system installed on your truck and somewhere in getting bought and sold the remote got lost or thrown away. Regualar plain old power locks dont unlock themselves. Unless something has shorted out, in which case it would do it when the truck was being driven and vibrated and stuff, not when sitting still and not when only at school.
I had a similar problem and mine was just a fuse. Mine would pop back up right after I locked them though. Also, the buzzer that goes off when you leave the keys in with the door open didn't work either. I put a new fuse in and everything was fine. Just a thought, but check all your fuses.
