OK, here is a general question for winch use. The place I go wheeling has some pretty deep holes. I have already had the winch under water but not for very long. It still works ok.. so other than submerging my winch a long time under some water it should be ok if I get it somewhat wet or not letting it sit in water right? Thanks DDGETHS

My Warn 8274 mounted on my CJ-5 hasn't been "submerged" completly, but it's been thourghly drenched through puddles, rained on HARD, buried with mud, (by another vehicle's spinning wheel!) it still functions like new.(far from lookin like it thought!) I don't see why it wouldn't work after being submerged, everything on it is sealed. I don't think I'd operate it submerged, unless my vehicle's security was jepordized. (winch would be the last thing I'd worry about ruining then)

The Milemarker Hydraulic winches are completely sealed and have no problem operating while completely submerged.
