can anyone post a link to a drum to disc conversion kit please? how hard are these to install on the back wheels of a 95 silverado? will they actually brake better than drum brakes when running larger tires?

thanks in advance,
Nick

Try TSM mfg, Stainless Steel Brakes etc there are a ton of disc brake conversions TSM is probably one of the most affordable kits.

It's fairly easy, remove the drum brake stuff, bolt on the new mounting brackets (some kits require welding)bolt on the new calipers, new brake lines and bleed the brakes.
Yes, the new disc brakes will help improve braking, you may also need to change or modify the master cylinder and/or brake proportioning valve to get the rear disc brakes to work properly.
depending o nthe price you could just swap in a nwer axle, i believe crow4576565843 has one he wants too sell for 300 i think, i cant remember.

the new axles don't have disks from the factory

actually about all the new silverados from around 2000 on up come with disc brakes, you almost have to order the thing with drum brakes to not get disc anymore
