Go get a truckin magazine they have hundreds of adds in there for cowl hoods. I ordered mine from a company in there Sport Truck Connection I think. Mine is a reflexxxion viper style cowl. It's all steel also.

I've had it since they came out (about 2yrs). It was 399.99 plus about 100.00 to ship AZ to AL. Then 125.00 to paint so painted it was about 625.00.
Yeah i see in alot of the truckin type magazines they have steel cowl hoods for a low price. :bigthumb:

Do ya'll think that it looks better with or withouth the viper deal? I am not sure if I am gonna order one or not.
i like without.... just my .02
Get it without I like to be unique :flipoff:.
is the viper insert actually funtional or is it all looks?
do you have troubles with crap getting into your engine compartment with the cowl hood?
-Josh
Can't say if the Viper model does but mine has screening to prevent anything from entering the engine bay...

And yes it does bring air in, even at slow speeds, note the leaf...

the keystones are pretty cool. an they're fiberglass. i like the twin scoop. makes it look like it's gettin ready to eat somebody. haha
i have yet to find a fiberglass hood that fits right, every one I have seen or the ones people bitch about not fitting are the fiberglass ones. Personally I would get a steel hood hands down. the reflexxion hoods are bad a$$, and all I have heard about them is good stuff.
I have a fiber glass hood on my truck, but I didnt install it autobody shop by me did it

:withstupid:
my 4" cowl hood for my k5 took some major work to get it to fit right.

i probaly had to trim 3"s of the back edge of the scoop just so it didnt hit the windshield.
I am for sure gonna get a steel one if I get one. I dont want a fiberglass on that is gonna break if a tree hits it to hard or a rock or something. I am probably gonna get one like archers if I can find one for a good deal somewhere.
How much are you guys paying to get your hoods painted?
