boost elbow and home made air intakes

there is a guy on ebay that sells an adjustable boost elbow for 15 bucks, they worth the money or not, also i am building a homemade cold air intake for the truck with the stock plastic elbow on the turbo and pvc pipe and a 9 inch long and 5 inch across filter with 4 inch inlet K&N filter, i can make the whole thing for less than 70 bucks including filter. you guys got any pics of home made air intakes, the truck is a 2003 non H.O. cummins automatic.
