Blazer to pickup conversion?

Took the top off my blazer recently, and I really like the way it looks. Been looking at the soft tops that kinda make it look like a pickup. Expensive but pretty cool. Wondering if there's a company that makes a kit or something to basically make them into a pickup, just enclose the cab up front and leave the bed open? Not really sure why, just curious I guess. Anyone seen or done this? Tried searching, couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Ok at least that means I can quit searching now. And so far as looking goofy, same to all the extended cab or 4 door long bed's. I don't want a boat to have to steer around the rocks and trees. :D:
G
there was a kit in the late 70's-early 80's that did what you are asking about, i havent seen one in a long time

maybe jc whitney has some?
You wanna talk about flex pix and drive shafts? Take a closer look dude, there's not even a damned transmission or transfer case in it. Now it does, and has double cardan shafts front and rear, xtreme ias shocks stock config in front, inverted V setup in back, HI-steer crossover in the front. And so far as structural stability with the top on? Go get a blazer with the top on it and really flex it hard and let's see how many times you have to replace the side glass in the top! Welcome to pirate...

forget it
I still have my soft top from my old blazer for sale....It's the one you're looking for so that it looks as if it's a short bed pickup with a tinted rear window....It was made by skyler which went out of business a few years ago but PM me if your interested.
Dang Froggy, you can't give that thing away can you? Tell you what, since noone wants it, you can give it to me so it won't dry rot or collect dust anymore. I'll give it a good home! :bigthumb: But back on topic, lol. I saw over on CK5.com where someone had put a pickup cab on a K5 frame and modified the bed to fit. Looked pretty cool and seemed like it would do really well on tight trails and rocks. Seems to me that would be easier by far than trying to find a conversion kit to make the Blazer like a pickup, unless that's all the conversion kit is.
:D:
Don't really want to switch the cab or anything being as how this one has really minimal rust, that and I spent quite a bit of time getting all the factory dash back in and working, wouldn't be worried about doing something myself except for the fact that the back of the blazer cab's aren't exactly flat, hope you know what I mean. Hoping maybe someone made a kit that was somewhat molded to fit the actual outside sheet metal so it didn't look quite so ghetto...

PM Sent by the way. :bigthumb:
PM, Sent in return...

Here is their websight which is still up.

there's a guy on here who did one. it's red and white, in the mid 80's. i was looking on the rides section and couldnt remember what year it was. you should contact him and ask how he did it.
