I am probably going to have to replace my exhaust over christmas break. I have a 95 S-10 with the 4.3. I currently 2 1/4 inch pipes, I am thinking about going to 2 1/2 inch if I replace it. I wouldnt think so, but would there be a big difference in the tone, loudness, sound of the exhaust with the bigger pipe?

Sorry, should have said that I currently don't have a muffler on the truck either. I think it sounds good and deep right now and just thought that I might go a little bigger since I need to replace it.

bigger pipes arent always better you can loose alot of low end power, exhaust velocity is what you want. 2.25 is not going to hurt power and if you are looking for better sound a flowmaster or cherry bombs up as close to the motor as possible would give the best sound. THere are some good tech articals on exhaust just do some searching.
