anyone, i am having a very hard time getting a question answered on back spacing. i have a 3-inch body and a 3-inch suspension lift. i am going to mount PJ 36 x 14.50 x 16s (these have a tread width of 12.25 inches) on a 10 x 16 wheel. i have the back spacing choice of either 3 5/8s or 4 5/8s. which do i go with? these are going to be wide tires so i want to get as much of the tire inside of the truck as possible (4 5/8s) but at the same time, i do not want to rub when turning the wheel (3 5/8s). please provide input... thanks...

More backspacing will keep the tires under the truck and reduce rubbing at the rear of the fenders becuase the wheel is turnign through a smaller arc. However, the more backspacing increases the chance of rubbing on the control arms.

Tough call. My 35x12.50 SSRs on 15x10 with 3.75" BS and a 3"/3" combo as well rubs on the rear of the fender liner only slightly when I am really working the suspension without the swaybar. An extra 1/2" out and an extra 1" on the sides would be rubbing the fenders for sure on with my wheel setup.

i run 3 1/2" of backspacing with 8"s of lift. it doesnt rub anywhere except the one edge of the bumper's plastic trim at full lock, but that can be fixed with a little bumper adjusting.

My 39.5" dont rub anywhere, but I have no idea what the back spacing on my wheels are. From my pics does anyone else know what they may be? I kmow they measure(with no tire mounted) 10-7/8 from inside to inside bead.

i would go with 4 5/8 because i have 305/70/16 swamper ssr on 16x10 welds with 3 5/8 backspacing and they rub on the fender edge at full lock. i think if i had gone with 4 5/8 they wouldnt rub at all since the wheel swings in a smaller arc and my tires dont come near the front radius arms

I'd go with the 4 5/8 backspacing. I had the 3 5/8 and my last ram 33 on 15x10 w/3" lift and they rubbed on the in fender skirt. I'm going with 16x10s on this truck with 4 1/2. I've seen a few trucks with this setup that have no problems. hope this helps.

No, a friend had 15x8 with no lift and 33s and he had no rubbing. on the 15x10s with no lift they rubbed on the drivers side only, at the back of the wheel well on full left hand steering lock.
