just wondering how much rouhgly it would be to do a solid axle swap..for the 86-89 4runner.

to answer the question, you have to know what axle you plan on swapping in, if you plan on doing the work yourself, if you are going to fab everything or buy a kit, and if you plan on doing it yourself, what special tools will you need

there needs to be a lot more input to answer this

the hardest part of an axle swap will actually be dropping it and lifting one up, other than that pretty simple stuff. It seems more intimidating than it really is, i'd rather switch axles than switch a ring and pinion.

:withstupid: Its all pretty much straight forward. Cut off all that IFS junk, hang the spring hangers, and bolt it in. Nothing a plazma cutter and a welder cant do :bigthumb:

This isnt just an axle swap, its an SAS.... removing IFS and completely fabbing a new suspension for a solid axle. Its ALOT more difficult than dropping one axle and bolting another up. read the original post before you answer
