K&N makes a kit for my 95 GMC that is like the generation II kit they make i think. except for the pre-vortec they call it an aircharger kit. i just wanted to make sure they are pretty much the same thing
The K&N Aircharger is the off-road equivalent of the FIPK and offers the same performance level at a lower cost. However, they are not approved by the California Air Resources Board for pollution controlled vehicles. Also, they do not include a filter service kit.
Be careful! K&N has the crappy "filtercharger" which is an open element 14" air cleaner but the picture on the box looks like a Gen II. If it isn't called the Generation II then it's something different. By the way, I never noticed any gain with the open element 14" but I did with the Gen II.
