46RE upgrades/interchangable parts???

What can be interchanged or upgraded from the 46RE??? I'm thinking of building a tranny (possibly in the near future since mine started acting up this afternoon), and would like to upgrade some of the failure prone parts if I do. I'm thinking of getting a heavy duty rebuild kit and a good aftermarket TC, and making some upgrades to the planetaries, clutches, bands, etc if possible too. What works from the 47RE/48RE???

I'm pretty confident my dad and I could do it ourselves and save some $$$. We did the 904 Chrysler tranny I had in my XJ without issue, so I'd a$$ume this would be pretty similar.
