OK guys. I hate to say it but i sold my 02 Dually. I am going to get an 03-04 Dodge diesel dually and was wondering if their stock fuel systems sucked as bad as the 98-02 dodge diesel's do? Any information would help thanks.

The 03-04 use a LP mounted on the fuel bowl that has a failure rate a little better than the 2nd gens, the only difference is when it dies, the IP can't get fuel past it so the truck dies (runs out of fuel)...it doesn't seem to hurt the IP.

The only problem is that dodge no longer supports the external LP (can still get these from CTD)...they have begun a retrofit of in-tank pumps that do not support the needed pressure 12-14 psi as recommended by Bosch...they rarely provide 7psi at an idle and are easy to pull down to zero at WOT...while this might be ok for the 3rd gens, only long term use will know for sure. All the 05s have the in-tank pump. They have already seen that the intank pump will not support high HP mods.
