1 piece rear shaft for excab-longbed?

Anyone running one or thinking of trying it? It would be alot easier to carry a spare shaft rather than the 2 piece shaft with the carrier bearing. Im sure I'd loose a little bit of clearance but around here that isnt really an issue.

I've looked into it. Most d shaft shops wont touch it. Said it would be too long and could get a whipping effect. If someone where to make it, It would have to be a good sized tube, which would probably get destroyed when wheeling.
I don't think they'd have to make it bigger but could use a smaller shaft with a thicker wall as I have done but like said above, just a little tweek and it's gonna whip and cause problems because of the length...
Thanks for the input guys. Just figured i'd ask since i've been tossing the idea around for a while. Guess i'll just take a 2 piece apart and keep it for a spare.
Not guessing it would be possible to have a custom 2-piece made with equal length 'shafts?

This is what I have seen too...most places won't even do it because they can't keep the shaft from whipping even when new...causes all sorts of vibs.
