I got a 1979 f150 with the 351m and c6 trans, I'm just out of high school and wondering what mileage gains I could make by swapping my 5.8 for a 300 straight 6, and if the 300 would bolt up to the trans.
Different bellhousing bolt patterns between the two. It would be much simpler just to find a truck with the six cylinder and keep the transmission that goes to that engine.
