Turbo 400/475 Identification?

    I've heard of a turbo 475? or something like that that is sopposed to be a heavy duty version of the turbo 400. How do you go about telling the difference between the 2?

    You'll find it in motorhomes.



    Not sure what it looks like.



    Hard to beat a race prepped TH 400 though, and a TH 400 cuts your power enough as is.

    Externally they appear the same. The difference is in the shape of the teeth on the planetaries in the tail of the case; 400 = helical (slanted), 475 = straight.



    Technically the 475 is stronger but I would imagine whatever would break a 400 would break a 475.

    If you break the inside of a TH 400 you got problems anyway, go to anger management.
