I have a stock 1996 gmc sierra z71. I bought some used tires about 6 months back and i went from a 245 75 16 to a 285 75 16, they fit fine. If i went to a 305/70 R16 would they fit without rubbing? If i were to buy new rims too. what size rim would make the best fit for the 305s.

Um, isn't rubbing offroad still rubbing?

Your best bet is to crank up the tbars a couple inches to keep it from rubbing. Don't go with a wheel over 8" wide or you will get it to. Putting them on the stock rims will also help.

Watch out if you have stock wheels... They will most likely rub the upper A-arm when turned and could rub te inner sidewall down!!!

The amount of backspacing on the stock wheels on GM trucks isn't meant for a tire that wide!!!

    I run a 305/70/16 on stock tahoe wheels on a 93 z71.

I also have 2" blocks and I can hear them rub every now and then off road. I will try to get a pic asap

    Hey I also have a question about runing 305's on a Z-71.

do any Z-71 owners know how will it affect my gear ratios.
