Ford 9" Axle Shaft Removal

REQUIRED TOOLS	MATERIALS (Check manual for types, amounts and applicability)	TIME

Difficulty Level - Easy
1) Jack up vehicle and place sturdy jack stands under axle. 2) If removing third member, Remove and secure driveshaft 3) Remove wheels and brake drums.	(click for larger image)
4) Remove 4 retainer nuts located on vacuum plate. (Big bearing socket size is 3/4")	(click for larger image)
5) Install brake drum backwards and install lug nuts a couple turns.	(click for larger image)
6) Use brake drum as a slide hammer until axle bearing clears housing. Notice progress in second pic.	(click for larger image) (click for larger image)
7) Remove axle and you're done!	(click for larger image)
