window tint help
first off im not asking for legal advice here so please dont answer with stick with whats legal. (mainly because legal tint is not inforced but thats a whole different story)
monday im going in to have my windows tinted on the new truck and i have some choices between a light and medium shade tint at 5 or 15%. ( read not limo tint but it has high uv protection) what im looking for are pictures of trucks with window tint along with what percentage the tint is. i cant decide which one i want. the shelby was 15% and while it was a good tint there were times i had hoped it was darker. ( especially here where the sun is just brutal in the 3 out of 4 seasons of the year) i am leaning towards 5% but i also want to be able to see out of my windows at night time as well. and dont want to put it on only to find out its so dark i cant see out of it and be stuck with it.
I'd go with a lighter tint personally. I had some on my Ram that was the same as the factory rear tint and while it looked pretty good, it made night vision terrible. When I was pulling the boat out of the water after dark I'd have to put my windows down or I couldn't see well enough to back it down the boat ramp straight. Part of that was probably the POS stock reverse lights on that thing though.

RE: window tint help
to be fair im leaning towards the 15% like what was on the shelby but im curious how the rear windows would match up if i did that. i want the front at 15 so what would he have to apply on the rear to make it match since it has the factory smoked windows. which are darker than plane windows but still allow uv through
15% was close to the factory rear tint on my truck. I wouldnt want anything darker, it gets annoying at night and I have to roll my window down to see depending on the lighting.Living in south GA, about 15 minutes from FL, it is plenty dark enough to cut down on the sun. Here are a few pictures...
3M's carbon fiber 20% was almost a perfect match to the stock tint on the back of my durango. The 5% I had on before it was way too dark at night for me. I plan on doing the same 20% all around my mustang and my F150 soon.

well after everything was said and done here she is... for those who ever get a 2010 f150 and plan to tint your windows be prepared for a hell of a learning experience due to the shape of the concave glass on the front doors....there is a curve not only going up and down but left to right as well. rear doors and back glass were a cake walk but the front doors had to be done 2 times so far... all looks good so far though....

Never mind while I was typing out my post I saw you posted you already got it done. What % did you end up with? How do you like it? Did you have the windshield tinted also? Did you do this yourself or have it done? I see you said the front windows were a pain.
