I have a 99 1500, 318 with 33x12 inch tires. Im getting terrible gas milage such as driving 90 miles uses over 12 gallons of fuel. my speedometer is slightly off but it cant be that off. Is there a way to figure in my exact gas milage with my tires? Should it be this bad? What is every one else getting for mpg?
thanks

I'm still trying to adjust to my MPG decrease, I've been driving a 93 2wd s-10 for the past 4 or 5 years and I could go 300 miles on about a 20 gallon tank.
reset your trip meter whenever you refill then go through the whole tank then divide your trip meter number by the size of your gas tank and that should get you pretty close to your MPG. its truck what do you expect haha
my truck is a 97 1500 w/ 318, i also have the 33x12.50's, and i get an avereage of 10 in town and 13 on the highway. if you've got the 3.55 gears like mine, then you can use the same equation i use to figure fuel mileage. . next time you fill er up, reset the trip odometer before you leave the gas station, next time you come to fill up, use the trip odo. number, plus 10% for the tires being off- example- 250 miles showing on the odometer= 275 miles driven.. divide your 275 by the gallons of gas you pump in and there's your mileage. of course it varies from driver to driver, and terrain traveled. while it makes for crappy off roading, i'm lucky here in central illinois because there aint a hill for 50 miles. the only time my fuel mileage suffers is when i get paged for a fire call and i'm 10 miles out of town and it's time to kick the pedal. . .just remember, a geo will get you 40 mpg, but will it get you laid?
i get about 11-12 mpg city and highway. depending on the wind, i can get 16-17 on the highway if i keep it under 65 mph. thats 33X12.50's, 4:10 gears, and a 360. i go to school in central IL (Normal) but i live near Joliet.
I get a whopping 9.5-10 gallons per mile But I am turning 35s.I stop at every gas station. It gives me a chance to stop and buy a beer to drink when I get home.
