I have been told that the old 727 will bolt up to my 96 360 you just have to find the computer for the engine that was out of a manual trans
I have not tried this but have been told this a few times
WTF does that have to do with him swapping an over drive manual 5 speed in his truck?
yes my 96 is a 5.9 but only for another month then i will have my 440 i will try and bolt the 727 to 5.9 just to see if what i have been told is rite or not
Yes, you really should post some tech you post whoring b*tch!
In terms of purely "unbolt this one and bolt that one back in its place," the answer is no.
An NV4500 is a few inches longer in case length than an NP435. I don't know about bellhousing depth, but I can't believe a NV4500 bell is appreciably shallower than one for a NP435.
Beyond that, I believe the output shafts are different. I may be wrong. I think the NV4500 has a 1-1/2", 29 spline output shaft whereas the NP435 will have either a 28 split output or a 32 spline out. Perhaps somebody more experienced in vintage Mopar "stuff" can correct me or add to what I've typed. So, without some fashion of a conversion tailhousing AND a transmission output shaft to t-case input shaft conversion "spud", it's not going to be a bolt-in swap. I would have to think some crossmember modifications would be required, as well, and probably driveshaft modifications two.
