my truck will use about an 1/8 of a tank (i have a 25 gal tank) over about a 6-8 mile trip i didnt really care up until this point, but now im getting a new electrical job which will be making me travel alot more
so my question is this,
what could make the truck use thata much fuel driving normally without stomping on it highway about 45-50 mph at about 1500-1850 RPMS
i have the bosch platinum +4 plugs and i think the IAC is going doesnt idle well anymore the tone ring sensor went today also from mud smacking it all day long and such
could the tone ring sensor being messed up affect mileage?
could the IAC affect milage ?
does the MAP sensor have a great affect on mileage im not the greatest with the fuel injection and computer stuff more of a mechanical person
any input is appreciated and sorry for the long post kind of venting also

Another one could be faulty injectors dumping excess fuel....
My red 94 had this problem. It got around 6mpg and it only had 35's. I just unbolted the fuel rail off the intake and pulled the whole thing off leaving it connected to the high pressure fuel line. Got in the truck and turned the key forward to prime the pump. Got back out to find 3 injectors were dribbling fuel just sitting there. Some new injectors solved the problem.

I, as well as a few others, have never had any luck with bosch +4 plugs. I would try those first before you start digging into the fuel system.

I've had bad luck even with the Bosch +2s. Stick with the old school Autolite, Champion, or NGK plugs.
How's your oil consumption? Have you checked for the plenum gasket being blown out?
The VSS is the sensor out of the tranny or on top of the rear diff. Stands for Vehicle Speed Sensor.
2-300rpms seems awefully low!!!
Changing out your spark plugs would be the first thing I would do like the other guy mentioned. Bosch plus suck for Dodge trucks. Seriously, the cheapo Autolites and Champions work wonders on the Magnums!
You can run fuel cleaner through the tank to help with the injectors. But if any of them are bad anyway, it won't help. Its easy to take the fuel rail off and put little bottles under the injectors to see how they are working. You don't want to just spray gas all over your engine compartment.
