im looking at taking off my stock rad fan that runs off the engine and putting two electric ones. is this worth it? and is there a way of installing a automatic switch like a car has. or would it just be easier to have it on a manual switch. this is going on my 98 chevy silverado.

You can pick up a thrmostatic switch from autozone that will turn them on automatically. When I ran fans on my dodge they worked fine, i just used a manual switch though. Make sure you buy fans that have enough CFM for your motor, esp. if you have AC. I ran two large fans on the rear of the radiator.

I think the 3.8 fans might be enough. They are dual fans arent they?

find some off a LT1 caprice, impala, roadmaster, fleetwood ect. They were used on all these cars form 94-96 and there's a ton in the boneyards. they're a twin elec. setup.

Just hook it up and give it a try, it should be fine, I picked up about the same setup as the guy above me in his checy, Payed 10 bucks. Sure they will work beautiful. Not to mention my buddy ran a ram charger (beat the piss outta it) and just ran little elec fans, was always very cool.
