clicking sound
ok so i know i need knew brake pads and rotors for sure...an asap! i can hear this clicking sound when going about 10-20 mph and not accelarating. in other words, when i let go of the gas peddle and going about 10-20 mph i can hear the noise. i dont know if it clicks going at a faster mph because i cant manage to hear. my question is, can the brakes and rotor be causing this clicking sound? thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure its your front axle u-joints. That`s exactly what my truck did when they broke on the dunes the whole way home that`s what I heard when i slowed down.

RE: clicking sound
Not the same joint. The most difficult part will be separating the hub from the knuckle. they will probably be frozen into the knuckles

RE: clicking sound
look in the "tech" section of this site under drive train there is a post by "The Boss" called dana 44 hub and u-joint replacement-- read it- learn it- love it! the only thing I did different is I took the axles to the napa machine shop in town to have them press the u-joints out and in, I now have a bigger bench vise that I can secure the press in

RE: clicking sound
Here's what it'll sound like if the u-joint is missing the needle bearings.
