classifieds - how long of text allowed

Trying to use the new classifieds, but everytime I get the ad done, and go to save, it kicks back and says text too long. Tried shortening the info 4 times, and finally gave up........ How many characters are we allowed to use in the description? Sorry if I missed that somewhere.....

It was 500 characters, but I have change it to 1000 characters. Let me know if that works for you

I'll give it a whirl - thanks. I think the last time I tried it, I had it down to 1700 characters, but I can do some trimming, and add info to another post.
