cj axel swap

my sister is about to buy a cj-5 or cj-7 havent desided yet and i have a dana 44 and 12 from my truck that i want to put on the truck
how hard will it be to intall and will it work ?

The spring perches on the back will need to be moved. The front springs will need to be outboarded some.

Check out http://www.bluetorchfab.com they make some outboard kits. thats who I go mine from.

Here is one of theirs. Give you a good idea of what full width looks like on a Jeep. And.....I wouldnt do it on a CJ5 find a 7 and get some extra length.

Yeah and they are some awesome guys. very talk to type. You can ask for Dan or Gaither. i have dealt with both and had no probs.

I just helped my buddy do this swap. we moved leafs out in the rear as well though. I made some outbourd perches. I'll get some pics for u later there on a dif pc.

Check the showcase section to see the writeup that Jeff did on his 83 CJ that we swapped in a rear D44 out of a Scout. It was simple as hell. Now the front, that won't be done for a long time now.

That is what is in my CJ8 and it was very easy. Any rear is easy really. just cut the old perches off. Get it in, centered and the pinon angle right and weld the new perches in. My front in the CJ8 Is a 78 waggy axle cut 4" on the long side.
