chevy axel on a tj or yj

is it possible to flip the transfer case so i could put a chevy dana 44 on a tj or yj .. i know that the diff is on the driver side on these and they are on the passenger side for cj's but i would like to build something a little newer and i already have the axels

What side drop is the D44...pass. side? If so, get a D300 out of a CJ and get an adapter from Advanced or Novak and bolt it up to whatever you want.

*EDIT* Ask YJ-Krawler37, he's doing this with his YJ to the stock tranny with I believe a chevy 8 lug D44.

dana 300 transfer case will be your best bet, it has 23 spline input like all the 6cyl yj/tj (4 cyl is 21 spline) and has the same mounting pattern. http://www.novak-adapt.com has all the info you need
