********URGENT QUESTION 05 Murano*****
Hey guys I am at my in law's place here in Ct, and its supposed to snow tomorrow. They have a hub assembly going bad in the 05 Murano AWD. I am going to replace it for them, but curious what tools I will need once the wheel is off. For caliper bolts, the bolts that hold on the assembly itself, and do I have to remove the large center nut from the CV shaft? They have VERY limited tools so I am pretty sure I will need to buy some. Just hoping to pick up the bearing and whatever tools I will need in one trip. Thanks in advance guys

Pick up a Haynes Manual, or call your local dealer and see if they will give you a section of the tech manual. Guessing what might be needed from here will lead to a couple trips to the parts store. Make sure nothing needs to be pressed on by a shop, etc before starting something you can't finish.

Good luck.

RE: ********URGENT QUESTION 05 Murano*****
Ok got it done. For anyone else in the same predicament its pretty straightforward, the large nut on the CV axle is a 32mm. We rented a socket and 1/2 breaker bar at Autozone. To remove the caliper bracket its a 19mm no socket needed wrench will get it. There is a 10 mm bolt holding in the ABS sensor which MUST be removed before pulling the hub/bearing out or you WILL break it. There are 4 bolts that hold the bearing to the knuckle, they are 17mm and you will need a socket and medium extension to get those out. Getting the bearing out was a major PITA. Beat on it for 20 minutes before it came out. Would advise renting a slam hammer for this part. I wanted one but they already rented it out making my job much less fun. Not bad at all job overall.

One final note, when putting new bearing in, be sure to line up the hole for the ABS sensor in the right position. It can go 2 ways and I got it wrong and put everything back together only to realize the sensor couldn't go back in. Pretty annoying to take it all back apart and then have to tap on the new bearing to get it out and rotate it 1/2 a turn.
