Turbo Questions

I have a few friends that have taken the O-Ring or set ring, whichever you wana call it out of the front side of the impeller housing...It really makes the turbo alot louder, and while I doubt it adds power I was wondering what this could harm when done...I'm sure it could cant be good for the engine or turbo...

the silencer ring was only put there by request of Dodge for a quieter turbo, has no really impact good or bad other than it can drop MPG since you will be on and off the throttle more often to hear it whistle

Like the boss said, its called a silencer ring. IT does nothing but add more noise.

Ok, in that case, why is it so hard to take out? Any tips on removal???its in there pretty damn good

snap ring. 2 screwdrivers.
oh, and talk to it sternly when you do it too, that helps.
